Thanks for purchasing our Live Copepods! Here is a quick guide to explain our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee for Copepods. There are several questions that customers have when it comes to purchasing Live Copepods and this should help answer any questions or concerns you might have.

If you believe your shipment of Live Copepods may be Dead on Arrival (DOA), please reach out to us and we will assist with any concerns or even some reefing tips and tricks.

Copepods cultures are mixed with babies, juveniles, and adults (shipments will vary). Babies are very tiny but will be visible as tiny white specs in the water column. Baby Copepods may not appear to swim like the juveniles or adults which can be confusing when making the determination on whether your Copepods are DOA or not, but rest assure, they are alive and well! After dosing into the sump or refugium along with providing them the proper nutrition, you should begin to see growth and reproduction within the next 2-3 weeks. Copepods feed on live phytoplankton, dead phytoplankton (not as nutritious), and detritus. We highly recommend dosing your reef tank or Copepods cultures with our REEF-BOOST®, but Nannochloropsis and Tetraselmis work great as well.

Copepod bottles are not filled completely to the top with water, and the air gap is intended to be a space for oxygen supply during shipment.

If you believe that your Copepods are dead on arrival (DOA), please take photos and/or videos of the Copepods in the bottle, along with its original packaging within 12 hours of receiving your order or we cannot grant a refund or exchange. If the product has been used, unfortunately, we will not be able to offer a refund or exchange. Please send all photos and videos, along with order# to support@algaedepot.com.

We would kindly ask that before leaving negative feedback or negative reviews, that you reach out to us to address any further concerns you might have. At the end of the day, if you’re still not happy with the product (following DOA policy), we will gladly refund or replace your order, no questions asked!
