Copepods are a highly nutritious food source for your corals and fish and adds biodiversity to any marine reef aquarium. Apocyclops copepods are smaller than other copepod species but are highly beneficial to the life and well being of fish such as Mandarin Gobies and Dragonets. Apocyclops Panamensis Copepods are fast movers and can trigger a feeding frenzy for those picky eaters. Apocyclops copepods are also a beneficial food source for various corals and should be target fed. Each 6oz bottle will be packed with Adults, Juveniles, and Babies. This product is also great for starting your own culture of Apocyclops Copepods. Culture times will vary based on age of Copepods and source of food but Apocyclops copepods can reproduce as fast as only 4 days!

Copepods are an essential element of the food chain and critical to the life of Goby’s, Dragonet’s, Sea Horses, and other Marine Life that tend to feed on the tiny Copepod organisms. If you’re wondering what feeds on Copepods, please use this list as a quick reference for how it can be beneficial for your reef tank ecosystem.

Adding Copepods to your tank can also start a new Copepod population or boost the existing population, by increasing the reproduction rate.

Copepods are shipped in an insulated bag with cold packs to ensure alive arrival. Due to colder temperatures, the copepods may go into a hibernation state (not moving/or slowly moving). Visible white specs are babies and do not swim around like the adults. Please allow them to remain in room temperature for 1 hour before use. If you believe the Copepods are Dead on Arrival (DOA), please refer to our DOA policy and be sure to contact us right away.

Live Copepods will ship out Monday – Wednesday to allow safe delivery by Saturday. All orders placed after 1pm EST on Wednesday will ship out on the following Monday.
